The S40C 40cm / 16″ petrolscarifier and aerator is powered by a 212cc four stroke engine and is hand pushoperated. Consisting of two blade systems which includes the 16 spring tinescarifier cartridge and a 17-bladed aerator cartridge.

With a turn of a dial the working height and depth of the machinecan be altered to -15mm up to +5mm. The S40C has large wheels for greattraction and a comfortable padded handlebar which folds for transportation.

Scarifying works by removing moss. weeds and thatch andallowing sunlight to reach the grass roots and preparing the lawn for grass seed.The cartridge rotates and the 16 sprung tines effectively rip the unwanted organicmatter and collects it into the 45-litre bag for emptying. Scarifying is bestsuited for the spring and autumn months.

Aerating is an efficient way of getting moisture and oxygen deepinto the soil and encouraging drainage when conditions are wet. The aerator cartridgerotates and claws at the surface removing any moss or detritus left afterscarifying and collects it into the bag. The 17 robust blades can also be setto slice into the soil for increased aeration. This process is recommended regularlyfor the entire growing season and as and when required.
